Finding the Right Literary Agent

Q: I checked the newsstand and looked for agents names for the writers of the same genre and did not find any listed. Are there other ways for a new writer to connect with an appropriate agent that I could try? -Robin

A: I’m not sure where you’re looking – newsstands are rarely the place to find agents. Check out any of the myriad books on the subject – for example, Writer’s Digest, Literary Marketplace, agentresearch.com, and, of course, the Association of Authors Representatives (aar-online.org).
