Former Vice President and Nobel Laureate Al Gore has a new book coming out with a new name. Our Choice will be released in November 2009.
The follow-up book to Gore's bestselling An Inconvenient Truth was originally titled The Path to Survival. An Inconvenient Truth was released in 2006. The book served as a companion to a documentary of the same name, which earned Gore an Academy Award in 2007. |

Lead Prompts Libraries to Remove Some Children's Books |

A federal law banning lead and other toxic substances in products for children 12 and under has raised new concerns. Some libraries have pulled children's books that were printed before 1986 because lead was used in printer's ink before then.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the chances of those books containing lead harmful to children is low. At least two libraries didn't want to take any chances and removed the books from their shelves. |

Rare Harry Potter Book Sells for $19,120 |

A rare, signed edition of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone has been sold for $19,120 at auction.The first edition of the book is a soft-cover and only one of 200 copies.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is the first book in the series. It was published in the U.S. as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. |
